Product Review: Etude House "Wonder Pore Whipping Foaming Cleanser"

It's time for a review on a Face Wash! I haven't written about cleansers for a while now, and I recently was able to buy and try the new Wonder Pore brand from Etude House! I get really nervous when it comes to face wash, since I used a few in my time that made my skin worse, so I'm cautious to try them out. This one really caught my attention, and I am really glad that I bought it!

Etude House's Wonder Pore Whipping Foaming Cleanser
(4.5 out of 5)

So far, this is the best face wash that I have used! I am a fan of Etude House products, and was drawn to this one because of the packaging, and the pictures they used to advertise. This is a deep cleansing wash, and there is more to it than meets the eye! I'll start off by saying this was made for more that clean pores and black heads! After I looked into the product more, I found that this line is also a solution for "Demodex Parasites", just the name sounds scary enough! These are parasites that climb into hair follicles and feed on your Sebum/Oil and Skin Cells, eventually planting their eggs in the pore, and then the babies do the same. They are too small to see with the naked eye, so it's difficult to know if you have them or not. But half of the adult population, one third of children, and two thirds of the elderly population have these parasites living in their skin! Scary, right? The most common symptoms are itching, redness, and skin irritation. (You can read more about them Here, if you're brave enough.) I thought the cartoon pictures for the line were black heads, but no, they are little skin parasites...

You don't need to have Demodex in your skin to use this face wash (if you think you have it you may want to invest and see if your skin condition improves), you can use it to improve your skin in general.. This can also just be used to keep your skin clean, and remove black heads. Now that I got the terrifying truth out of the way, let's move on the the product itself! The Wonder Pore line is supposed to be "Wonder Woman for your Pores!", I really like that phrase. This wash is great for sensitive skin, like mine, because it contains no parabens, fragrances, talc, artificial pigment, or animal ingredients (which sounds like a terrible thing). It also claims to have at least seven skin benefits; Deep cleansing, Sebum Control, PH Balance Control, Smoother Skin, Clear and Bright Face, Skin Elasticity, and "Water Supply" (I take it to mean moisturizing). That's a lot of benefits for one product! It also contains Dandelion, Cypress, and Chrysanthemum plant extracts, which contain vitamins A, C, K, Calcium, etc. If you're allergic to these flowers you should stay away from it, obviously. The packaging is very sturdy, it's a metal tin with the regular foaming top and a plastic cap, and it did fine with lots of air and sea travel on my part!

You can either apply this by letting it set on your skin for a few minutes before scrubbing, or go directly to scrubbing. Then rinse with warm water and pat dry, also don't forget to moisturize afterwards as well. The cleanser can be used with the Pore Cleansing Facial Brush, but I didn't buy it myself. I used either a tabby washcloth, or just my fingers, and still got results, but you may get even better results with the brush. The texture is a mix between whipped cream and shaving cream, I feel like I'm a guy about to shave when I wash my face every day! It's really fun to work with, in my opinion, and feels really light on my skin. You really don't need to use a lot of it, only about a teaspoon, it lathers up and spreads really well, in fact you are most likely to use too much the first time you wash your face with it. It doesn't really have a scent to it, the closest thing to a "smell" would be of a bar of soap, but lighter, with a very light touch of a natural floral smell (no doubt from the different plant extracts). I really love the consistency of the foam and how light and natural it feels on my skin. I use it once a day, and sometimes I switch between using it in the morning or at night.

As for it's effects, compared to what it says it should do, it followed through with most of them! My skin felt very clean, but not dry or worn out, from using it. It helps moisturize your face, inside and out of your pores, so your skin feels smooth and firm, without being tight. I saw an overall change in my skin texture and tone, my natural coloring came out in my cheeks, and my face looked even overall. It took about a month or so of consistently using it to get these effects, but you do feel an instant "clean and moist" sensation from the first time you use it. I think that the longer you use it, the better it will work. The reason I didn't give it a perfect score is because I still have some of my black heads, and it didn't solve my breakout problems. It toned down my breakout and blackheads a bit, but there wasn't a dramatic difference. I believe that if you use the toner or clay masks with it as well, you may get even better results, and I hope to buy those in the future.

You can buy a bottle of this cleanser from Cosmetic Love (my personal preference) for about $20 Here. You may think, "Why would I spend $20 on one bottle of face wash?" The answer is, because it works. It doesn't have the "bad ingredients" that other cleansers have, and also it will last you for a very long time! I've had the same bottle for about four months now, and I'm not even halfway through with using it! I think it's better to make the investment for the long run. I hope that you get a chance to try this one out, because overall I really recommend it. If you have tried it out, please let me know what you thought! Products can work differently on different skin types, so I always like to know how it works for others.

See you next time you jump down the Rabbit hole,
